Two things tell me life is back to normal after our big trip.Jaxon is sleeping everywhere, and the cats are back in his crate. We Managed to have some fun along the way with a game we called CD Roulette.
I imagine it to be like one of those Brazilian soccer callers when we cross the line…..”TITLEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
OK, so it wasn’t quite like that. And our title run came out of a run that could have been disastrous.
We went back to trialling on the weekend. It was a 2 day event with the Goulburn club in country New South Wales.
While the weather was slated to be freezing cold and wet, it was actually beautiful. We had cooler weather than Sydney, but not freezing. The rain held off until Sunday afternoon, and wasn’t too bad when it did arrive.
Jaxon’s a bit annoyed I’ve gone away and taken the computer with me. So he can’t help write the blog.
He has been sending photos and news of his holiday with his friend Coco, though, and looks like he’s having a fabulous time without us!
I’ll let the photos & video speak for themselves.
Happy weekend everyone!
First Agility & Jumping trial of the year on Saturday night, and all the dogs had a great time. Thanks to the NSW Agility Committee, the fundraiser was a great success, and lots of triumphs and various zoomies and a lot of fun all round.
We were entered in the Jumping & Agility rings for Novice 300. Jumping was the first event of the evening. After going to club earlier in the day, and thanks to the 34 degree heat at 6pm, we didn’t get too far before Jaxon decided there were other things on his agenda. He had a wonderful time sniffing around, then doing a couple of jumps, then greeting the Judge, then doing some more jumps and a tunnel, then having to be herded by the judge to get back to me… if anything I should have been rolling on the ground laughing by this stage.
What a big weekend! We attended Summer Agility Camp with the Canine Fun Sports team – Keith & Le.
They have a great set up at their home base in Castlereagh, and we were (OK, I was) excited to be spending the whole weekend learning more about agility!

It was a great night at the Dogs NSW Bushfire Appeal Jumping trial. There were three rings running, nearly 750 entries, around 250 dogs running, and about 180 handlers.
Needless to say, walking the course was like rush hour in the city, and we had to stand back each time to wait for the crowd to dissipate before we could take a good look at the course.
Thanks to the wonderful Agility Club members at NSDTC, we had amazing food, great company and we even had a cheer squad.
Tomorrow night we’re off to Western Sydney to do not one, but THREE jumping trials to help raise money for the Bush Fires.
It looks like it’s going to be a busy night, with 750 entries! That also means we’re in for a long night.
It’ll be interesting to see how much energy Jaxon has at midnight for our last trial. Oh, and me! Better take some tea too.
It’s been a couple of days since we returned to Sydney, but we’ve both now caught up on our sleep & are fully rested from the big weekend. Which isn’t that hard for Jaxon as it’s been raining, so agility training is off the cards for now.
The weekend was well run by the Greater Western All Breeds Club, and each ring ran really well. The judges were clear & had a laugh at the lighter moments. Everyone was really friendly, and Jaxon managed to bribe treats out of many people thanks to his charms and good looks….
