Agility News Friday – Agility Nerds
Every Friday, we’ll post some of the cool Agility links, articles, blogs etc that we think are worth sharing.
Lately, Jaxon & I have become agility nerds. Meaning we spend a lot of time thinking, reading about, doing agility related activities.
I know Jaxon is sad every day I go to work, as it means he can’t do any training. His dad is home with him, but dad doesn’t do agility. He just throws a ball. Boring!
Lots of the people we know through agility suffer the same affliction – agility nerdiness. We often get tips and ideas, links and resources from our friends. We’ll always give credit where it’s due 🙂
Wanted to say a big thanks to both 1st World Dog & Mawson for sharing this great resource with us – Linda Mecklenberg’s great book on handling.
Unfortunately it’s out of stock at the moment (we suggested she sell an e-book). So we’ll be patient in waiting for it.
If you have to wait too, here are some clever training videos from Linda.

No we have the boom in the club library. I have it at the moment but will bring Sat so you can start reading the initial stuff.
We managed to get it from Tsuey’s site. I think worth having to go with everything else we’re learning at the moment 🙂
Yeah we really like doing the basics. Maybe we can do as a warm up on Sat mornings.
Another great idea! Yeah, I really enjoyed doing some basic warm-up exercises with Jaxon yesterday – it was brilliant. He just really got what I was trying to do. He was so much more engaged & looking patiently at me when I stuffed up the moves. Next step, film myself & see what I’m doing wrong to improve 🙂
The filming we are doing of each other is great. Helps so much!
I need to get those videos up – thanks for reminding me!! 🙂
Yeah can you explain or point me in the direction of DropBox. I am a tech-idiot who attempts to play with this stuff.
Will send you a link when I upload the videos.
