Workout Wednesday – Snow Dog shuffle
Jaxon is a single coat pampered pup. I often wonder what he would do in the snow. In fact I’m thinking of taking him to the snow this year just to find out.
This doggie is obviously very happy lying in the sun. Up the mountain, there were a bunch of Labradors and a poodle doing doggie rescue training.
I also wonder what Jaxon would do if he had to find someone in the snow. That would take nose work to the next level for sure! I think as long as the person had treats or roast chicken on them, he might actually do ok….
So how do you get your dog introduced to the snow? Some pups are lucky to just be born to it. Some have a genetic predisposition for it (like the doggie in the photo).
I did a bit of digging (pun intended) to find out more about these amazing dogs and how they’re trained.
Whistler has an amazing program training rescue dogs. Here’s the link to enjoy for Workout Wednesday.
